Detailed Description

This particularly decorative veneer pattern comes from the unique growth of the birch. The measles, probably caused by viruses, are caused by firmly fused admixtures. Within the wood structure, slight wrinkles lead to these inclusions, which are markedly emphasized by dark and narrow bark parts. This results in an interesting flame-like pattern on the beige wood.

Characteristic and wood color

Sapwood and heartwood are not different. The wood is yellowish-white to reddish-white, practically without heartwood, matt-gloss, with pith flecks inside the wood body, similar to alder. Depending on the grain, the wood is plain to decorative, whereby particularly beautifully grained wood, so-called "flame birch", comes especially from Sweden and Finland.
