Innovation building from DSM with parquet from Roser
We are delighted to have been part of an exceptional project that was realised in Kaiseraugst, Switzerland, from 2021 to 2023. As a renowned parquet dealer, we have contributed significantly to the success of this project by supplying high-quality parquet that is not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing.
The research and innovation centre, designed by the prestigious architectural firm Nissen Wentzlaff from Basel, is an impressive example of modern architecture and innovative interior design. The new building was developed to serve as a horizontal research platform that complements the existing office tower and at the same time consciously stands out from its surroundings.
A key aspect of this project was the selection and installation of the parquet flooring, which focussed equally on quality, aesthetics and functionality. In collaboration with the contractor Abt Bodenbeläge AG from Basel, a customised parquet flooring from sustainably managed forests was installed. The parquet, a custom-made product from a manufacturer, impresses with its unique look: 3-S red oak in an industrial look with a width of 80 mm and falling lengths of 1200 to 3000 mm, heavily brushed and with a white oiled surface.
This parquet was chosen not only for its aesthetic qualities, but also for its outstanding properties in terms of durability and sustainability. The parquet blends seamlessly into the overall concept of the building, which is characterised by transparency, openness and innovation.
"The reduced colour scheme of the project thrives on the dialogue between the velvety lime green rubber flooring and the complementary colours of the red-brown larch wood of individual components in the interior fittings. Representative room zones were given a wooden floor covering that blends harmoniously into this overall picture with the delicate red shimmer of the white-oiled red oak."
