Detailed Description

A medium-high tree that grows between 20 and 35 m high, depending on the location, and reaches a diameter of up to about 80 cm. The bark is up to 15 mm thick and yellowish.

Characteristic and wood color

Sapwood and heartwood are hardly different. The sapwood is slightly paler than the heartwood, which is brown-red when freshly cut, but darkens later. The wood is mostly decorative due to lighter and darker veins and lighter spots.
