Amazakoue trees grow in West Africa, especially in South Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea and West Gabon.

Characteristic and wood color

Amazakoue is a coarsely grained wood which is visually very similar to European walnut. It shows a slight twist and has more or less regular colour stripes. The heartwood is yellowish to olive brown, the sapwood white-yellowish.
