Raw density: 850 - 1000 Kg/m3

Occurrence

The Santos Rosewood grows in South America preferably in Brazil and Bolivia. Santos rosewood can also be found in Asia.

Characteristic and wood color

Sapwood and heartwood are sharply separated. The structure and colour is similar to that of Rio rosewood. In the past, Santos Rosewood was therefore used as a substitute for the rare and now endangered Rio Rosewood. The colour is between yellow-reddish and violet-brown. Due to the uneven distribution of the colour stripes, the picture can vary greatly.
