Ziricote grows in North and Central America, from Mexico to Colombia and occasionally in Brazil.

Characteristic and wood color

Sapwood and heartwood are only moderately separated. The sapwood is greyish yellow and narrow. The heartwood is grey-brown to red-brown and mostly irregularly interspersed with darker to black veins. The wood has a nice shine and is very decorative. The structure is straight and fine grained, the texture is medium fine and uniform throughout.
