Veneer smoked Peartree Swiss ZKB - Innovative preservation
The Basel architects jessenvollenweider have created an urban offer on Bahnhofstrasse.
The headquarters of the Zürcher Kantonalbank on Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich were built at the end of the 1960s according to the plans of architect Ernst Schindler. With their concept, the architects have given the headquarters of the Zürcher Kantonalbank a new value in the spirit of Schindler and at the same time reinterpreted the public areas in and around the building. In the choice of materials, the extension also refers to the original design. A shell limestone flooring forms the flooring, the cladding of columns and parapets up to the 2nd floor are made of Ekeberg marble. Contrasting with this are the wooden built-in elements made of smoked service tree, which was carefully selected and homogeneously colored by Roser AG.
