Veneer smoked Peartree Swiss at Merian Iselin Hospital
The premises of Rollladen AG in Basel, formerly used by craftsmen, were converted into rooms for physiotherapy for the Merian Iselin Clinic. The room program includes treatment and exercise rooms, patient checkrooms and offices for nutritional counseling.
For the implementation, interventions in the supporting structure with various ceiling and wall openings were necessary. In addition, the existing building services installations were completely dismantled and reinstalled. To meet the legal requirements for thermal insulation, the exterior walls were provided with new interior insulation and all windows were replaced.
The concept for the interior design is based on an upscale and high-quality standard of fit-out - the premises are not primarily reminiscent of a hospital or a practice. A quiet, homely atmosphere was created, which should have a positive effect on the visitor of the physiotherapy or nutritional advice. The smoked Peartree Swiss veneer provides a beautiful, warm contrast to the otherwise restrained color scheme.
